The big tech companies insist their technology isn’t listening to us or snooping on our conversations. But I was on the phone to a friend, talking about how I felt I needed to go home.
I went back and forth over whether I should actually do it, then eventually decided I should. Later that day, I booked the flights. Within 36 hours, I would be on a plane.
Later in the day I was working with my music on shuffle, this song came on.
Call it coincidence. Or call it something slightly more calculated, shall we say?
Either way, it’s a great song. Seventies rock has probably been underused on this playlist, despite being an era with so much soul, feeling and depth. There’s something about the way it can feel completely raw and energetic while being technically superb and beautifully produced in the same breath. Quite simply it is a brilliant, brilliant, brilliant era of music.
